For this logo refresh for Deanz Plumbing based in Turner, Maine, the client was open to new typefaces, but wanted to keep the pipe/valve element as part of the lettering. The client also wanted to better develop the pipe/valve illustration to make it more easily recognized.

The pipe element was doing double-duty in the original logo, representing both the Z in “Deanz” and the L in “Plumbing”. I recommended having the pipe element represent a single letter which allowed “Deanz” to lead the lockup and give the logo a more compact shape. Keeping the blue and red lettering to represent plumbing and heating was important, but both colors were updated to make the connection more recognizable.
